North Georgia QRP Club - NoGa
DXCC Challenge 2012 -
The Power of Five Watts Most amateurs don’t appreciate the power of five, but during four months - January to April - members of the North Georgia QRP Club used no more than five watts to work more than 100 entities and countries, resulting in a DXCC award, presented at the August NOGA meeting. Over 700 contacts were made on Phone, Digital, and CW from 80 meters to 10 meters, with 144 countries/entities. 102 entities confirmed via Logbook of the World (LoTW) during a period of 4 months - January to April. We believe it may be the first time a QRP club has gotten a DXCC award. And we’re certain that we hold a speed record for getting it, thanks to the power of LoTW. Thirteen members participated in sharing the club call, NO4GA, to win the award. Each participant received a copy of the club DXCC Certificate. Click HERE for a picture from the presentation.
