This small, but growing, group of amateur radio enthusiasts, most of whom are within 90 miles (and more)  of Atlanta, are interested in promoting the development of the branch of amateur radio known as QRP - building and operating low power transmitters, receivers and transceivers.

NoGaQRP Activity Fun Nights
 Club members meet for chatting, testing rigs, and HAVING FUN:

We are trying a SSB net on Tuesday at 8:30 PM Eastern around 3975 KC.   Propagation has been surprisingly good.  Join us even if you are not QRP.. that's what we will talk about.

Tuesday night we have the cw qrp net. Between 9:00 and 9:30 PM Eastern on or about 3560 KC.   Join us and try out that rig.  If you don't have a QRP rig, call us with your KW or what-have-you.  But try to turn off all the power you can and HV FN.!! (Sometimes the NCS doesn't even make it but check anyway).  This is a slow speed net.  Whom ever is NCS will normally slow down to the slowest check in speed.

The NoGaQRP club generally meets monthly at 10AM on the second Saturday of the month

Note: Please park in the parking deck marked "Shepherd Parking."  Do NOT park in the parked deck marked "Woodruff Parking," as that is for Shepherd Center employees.  Take the elevator to the First Floor and walk across the bridge to the Marcus-Woodruff Building.  Walk to the Security Desk and ask for directions to the Board Room. Back to the Church and a great turnout.  We had projects from Russ, AE4NY; Ted, KX4OM; Brooks and  Jim, W4PDZ.  Guy, AF4MN discussed the weekly net and options for changing frequency.  We're planning to try 3.577 at 8:30 on Tuesdays.  We want to try this for the next few weeks then publish the new freq.

The meeting was held in Lawrenceville in conjunction with the Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society Annual TechFest. Norm, set up the banner and reserved a table before heading off to the kitchen to prepare lunch. We had great turnout and a lot of QRP gear and conversation. Photos

Meeting was again in the main building at Wieuca Baptist Church, there were about 25 QRPer's and family,  The fall days must keep QRPer's indoors, as there was lots of show and tell.  The building contest had two presentations, Ted KX4OM and Harold, KE6TI.  Both rigs were excellent.  We broke a little early and a good majority went to Piccadilly for a holiday lunch.

Noga meeting October 8,2005.. Meeting in very posh quarters at Wieuca Baptist Church, there were around 17 QRPer, including 2 newly sworn-in. There was a lot of good show and tell, with active discussion. Due to the evacuees from the Hurricane we weren't in the usual cottage, so stand by for meeting location for November,....this will serve as a Reminder.. our next meeting will be Saturday November 12....make a note to be THERE ! Bring anything you want to contribute as door prizes, and of course any "Show and Tell stuff. Spread the word. Russ, AE4NY

What is it?  Well you needed to be at the meeting to grasp the whole picture.  We had a great time.  Jack, K5FSE, showed off his new tennis ball launcher.  Tom Dooley, K4TJD,  moderated.  We had several items for the show and tell, gave the "L" list a good tongue thrashing, learned a little more about Ed's, N4XY,  GDMs and Harold, KE6TI, had some interesting give aways.  And Phil, K4PQC is getting slimmer all the time.

We had a great turn out for the April Meeting. Wey brought in his rewired and good looking battery pack of 4 ea 7 amp hour batteries.  Phil brought in some lamps that he found to be of value for the shack.  He talked the store into a great price.  And passed on the "deal".

It was a beautiful day, maybe that accounted for attendance being less than usual. Joe,W4JHR did a great job of chairing the meeting, Marvin brought in a lot of free goodies, and Steve contributed a number of extra door prizes, beyond the usual $ 15.00 gift certificate from HRO.
Phil continues to reduce the weight of his Sprint XCVR .

The NoGaPiG  is a QRP "Power/Indicator Guard". This electronic power supply monitor protects your qrp equipment from direct shorts, reverse polarity and over voltage.  The PiG includes an LED to alert for low voltage.  This is useful during field activities where a battery change may be needed.  The PiG has a resetable Polyfuse so you don't have to carry extra fuses to the field.  The kit includes all parts except the enclosure and external connectors..   The PiG board has real estate for (parts are not included) for an electronic CW keyer and a static hiss filter for use with headphones.   Pricing Information Click here for details.
